Halloween Events in Western North Carolina

There are many reasons to love October, especially when living in western North Carolina. It is hard to beat the beauty of the fall in our mountains! On top of the magnificent scenery that the mountains of western North Carolina have to offer, there are also lots of fun and festive activities happening in Jackson County, NC and surrounding areas.


Monster Bash/Trunk or Treat:

·         Monday, October 29th Andy Shaw Ford is teaming up with the Comfort Inn of Sylva. The evening will include holiday inspired treats, music, games, a costume contest, a showing of Hocus Pocus, and of course candy! 6PM-8:30PM


Pumpkin Patch

·         Darnell Farms (Bryson City, NC): Haunted hayride and trail October 26-31

·         Mark Watson Park (Sylva, NC): October 31st, 5-7

·         “The Great Pumpkin Patch Express”: Hop on board a train at GSMR in Bryson City, NC and hear a narration of Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. The day includes wagon rides, a bouncy house, photo opportunity with the Charlie Brown characters, and getting to choose a pumpkin from the great pumpkin patch. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October.


Corn Mazes

·         Cold Mountain Corn Maze (Canton, NC): At dark the corn maze turns haunted for the brave souls that want to experience a spookier corn maze.

·         Deal Farms (Franklin, NC): October 27th, the corn maze will be haunted, and proceeds go to the Special Olympics of Macon County.
